Motorcycle Pics and Humor to Warm You Up

How we have felt for three months...

Damn You, Dirty Snow

Great news for bikers in some regions--the weather is promising to warm up for a bit. We might even see some temps in the 60's.  Sure, there are plenty who still get out there and ride when it is 0, but probably not so much when the snow and ice are up to the handlebars.

It may be a few more days before the last of the ice disappears, but until then, here are some motorcycle themed memes and photos to give you  a laugh, (or just get you in the mood to ride.)

No matter how cute you are, you can't run a stop sign.

Best mobile business idea.

Bugs taste better at high speed.

Not all bugs though...

You will still be young enough to ride when Spring gets here.

If not, then improvise.

Second best mobile business...

Have you planted your bike seed yet?

And road legal.

Meanwhile, behind the scenes...

We want to work there!

Thank God for Swiffer.

Or at least send us a free sample for a week or so.

The Chopper Is Out the Door

Back to being a safe ride

Last week we wrote about the '06 Chopper that came to the shop. The initial complaint was that the battery wasn't doing what a battery should be doing. There was also a noise that needed inspection.

Well, we replaced the battery, and adjusted the clutch. Then the front wheel fell off. That is when we found some other fun stuff that needed to be addressed too.

Here is what we did while it was in the shop'

  • Replaced the battery
  • Checked the charging system
  • Removed and cleaned carbeurator
  • Took front end apart and put new bearings in neck
  • Re-packed bearings in front wheel
  • Replaced wheel
  • Tightened secondary belt

We also employed a liberal amount of Loctite and helped the guy put his new license plate on.

Almost there....

Nope. One more thing...

Okay. Job well done.

Quick Project--'04 Big Dog Chopper

A Quick Side Project

As much as we would love to say we were responsible for creating this custom masterpiece, this badass bike actually just came through for a quick valve job. But hey, that doesn't mean we can't take pictures, right?

Polishing it up before it goes home

About The '04 Big Dog Chopper

Obviously, this bike is dripping with custom goodness. Here are some of the finer points that beg to be highlighted:

  • 100 inch RevTech motor
  • 300mm rear tire
  • Custom paint: yellow with orange ghost flames

Cool custom mirrors too!

And check out the Inferno rims!

Work Done On This Bike

For this bike, all that was requested was a valve repair. The front end was torn down, the valves were fixed, and then the front end was rebuilt.

Time Spent

  • Less than 7 hours off and on

Added Bonus:

Who doesn't love a customer that tells you to come get the bike and ride it anytime you want?

A Little Trivia about Big Dog Bikes

  • Big Dog made their first bike in 1994
  • Big Dog's first bike was know as "Old Smokey"
  • The company only ever produced 7 different models
  • The bikes were known for being highly customizable
  • Big Dog went out of business in 2011

Biker Photo of the Day--Heritage Softail Twins

Sometimes a great photo op just pulls up and parks beside you. These two Harley-Davidson Heritage Softails were just begging to have their picture taken together. The one in front belongs to our Sheriff and riding-buddy. The other one just magically appeared today when we stopped for gas in Eufaula.
