artwork by Jayme Kinsey, used with permission

Labor Day Weekend! Time for picnics, BBQ, some end-of-the-year swimming...and of course, riding. And maybe a little more riding. Just in case winter surprises us early and it snows on Tuesday. Okay, that probably won't happen in MOST of the states, but it never hurts to ride today as if you won't be able to ride tomorrow.

In the meantime, enjoy some totally random Harley Trivia. If it is something you didn't already know, then you can now impress your friends at the next BBQ.

  • First HD dealership was in Chicago. It was owned by C.H. Lang.
  • William and Arthur Davidson created the first Harley motorbike in a shop that had a floor space of only 150 sq. feet

  • Janet Davidson, the first woman to ride a Harley, was also responsible for designing and painting the pinstriping and lettering the bikes created by her nephews.
  • The first Harley, according to legend, had a carburetor made from an old tomato can.
